Question

I recently got a female rat from a pet store. She had been donated cause the previous family couldnt keep her any more. However they didnt give the pet store any info such as age or helath problems. I took her to the vet and he says that she is healthy and about 2 years old.

It has been about 3 months now and I am starting to notice some strange things about her. My other rats come running to the cage door if i just walk in the room but she doesnt seem to notice till i touch her or if she sees me at the cage. Its not that shes not friendly cause soon as she notices me she is pushing all the other rats out of the way to come get some lovin.

I have gotten other rats after they were a bit older and they still all learned their names after a few weeks and would come when i call but she doesnt seem to get it. I call her and she doesnt even respound, no ear twiching no turning her head nothing.

She has red eyes and I have heard that rats with red eyes can be deaf a lot of the time is this true? Is there any test i can do to see if she is deaf?
